President Dr. Julius Maada Bio has appointed Ms. Mamusu Komeh- Massaquoi as Deputy Minister for Basic and Senior Secondary Education.
The appointment came following a release from State House on Tuesday 11 January 2022 in a brief cabinet reshuffle.
The new Deputy Minister 2 will join Dr. David Moinina Sengeh and Md. Emily Gogra as her colleague ministers in the Ministry.
Before her appointed, Mrs. Mamusu Massaquoi was the Director of Nutrition for School Feeding Programme of the Free and Quality education.
The New Deputy Minister is an indegene of Bo City. She attended the Queen of the Rosary School(QRS) in Bo.
She later travelled to London where she was involved in leadership training in education, transformation and working as a teacher.
She has double masters in Nutrition and a postgraduate in Education.
Also, Ms. Mamusu Komeh-Massaquoi was awarded the most outstanding teacher award in the UK between 2013 and 2014 academic year when she was head of curriculum at the Oasis Academy Shirley Park, London UK.
She however, decided to return home to contribute to national development before the election in 2018. She will join the team with wealth of experience in Educational Reforms.
Asked about her reaction when she heard about her appointment as Deputy Minister 2 of Basic and Senior Secondary School, she said, “well, for me it’s a surprise. But I’m excited to serve particularly in education. There is no better time,” she stated.

Other people who were appointed were former Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Alhaji Alpha Khan. He is now the new Resident Minister of the Northwest Region with cabinet rank to replace Madam Isata Kamara, who is now Deputy Minister of Trade.
The former Deputy Minister of Transport and Aviation, Sadiq Sillah was appointed Ambassador to Egypt, while the Resident Minister East, Andrew Fatorma was appointed Chairman, Board of Directors of Road Maintenance Fund Administration.
