Female Trader Remanded for theft

22yrs old Ramatu Bangura a trader made her first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on one count charge to wit Larceny in a Dwelling house contrary to Section 13 (a) of the Larceny Act 1916

According to the particulars of offence that on Thursday 2nd December 2021 at No.2 Olorshoro stream, Murray Town the western area in Freetown entered into the dwelling house of Yeani Fabbah and stole therein one Samsung galaxy S-8 mobile phone with Africell Sim Numbers valued five million Leones(5,000,000) property of the said Yeani Fabbah.

The defence counsel M.M Tejan applied for bail for and on behalf of his client that she is a Sierra Leonean resident within the jurisdiction that she has reliable sureties who are ready to go into recognizance on her behalf. He added that the accused person is not a flight risk nor will she jump bail counsel made his application pursuant to section 79 (2) and (3) of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965.

Bail was refused and accused person remanded at the Female correctional center in Freetown. 

DPC 15152 Harold B Turay prosecuting the matter, and has been adjourned to the 20th December 2021.
