Alhaji Momodu Koroma is currently touring the Northwest and Northeast and he is receiving a tumultuous welcome in all District headquarter towns. His campaign message is simple; The party needs a unifier. The party needs a good manager and a strategic planner. The party needs a mature individual with the requisite skills and experience to support the President’s unique agenda for Sierra Leone. Momodu Koroma is an embodiment of all of these attributes. He is therefore humbly asking his party members to do the needful; vote him in and you will have a solid party.
Alhaji Momodu has also promised party members a 100 days strategic plan of action that he will launch as soon as he is elected chairman. It will be a plan to restructure, rehabilitate and reorganize the party; it will be a plan to reconcile and re-energies the membership, a clarion call for unity and a decisive push towards 2023.
He spoke about the need to capture raw party data for effective planning of party affairs and for effective support for government programmes. He emphasized the importance of setting up a Party Inspectorate to monitor and audit the effectiveness of party organs and activities. He told the Northerners that he plans to effectively utilize the services of the Elders Council and the Former Members of Parliament in achieving this objective as well as other pressing issues. He will create a transparent and accountable party administration to rebuild confidence of party members.
Alhaji Momodu told the people of the Karene that the SLPP will have an added advantage in making him party chairman because he was a Minister in the Office of the President for six years and he will bring that experience to bear on the Presidency.
He told the Northerners to galvanize support for him to win the chairmanship to put political parties that duel on tribalism to shame because his ascending to the Chairmanship will deflate the stupid argument that SLPP is a Mende man party. He called for unity and reconciliation at all levels of the party.
Alhaji Momodu thanked the party members in the North for their steadfastness and dedication in the face of challenges in the region. He encouraged them to be patient with the government because the President is ‘a talk and do President’. He does not believe in making vague promises. He assured them that he will work hard to uplift the party to win more members in the North.
