Jeneba Jalloh a petty trader was on the 6th December, 2021 dragged to court before magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road court No 1 for allegedly stealing assorted food items valued over 150 million leones from one Ibrahim Kabba. The accused who made his first appearance in court was arraigned on two counts charges of Conspiracy and Larceny contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.
According to the particulars of offence on count one it was alleged that the accused Jeneba Jalloh on Monday 15 November 2021 at No15 Krootown Road Freetown conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a felony to wit Larceny. The Police further alleged on count two that the accused on the same date in Freetown did steal assorted items to the total valued of one hundred and fifty one million four hundred and ninety six thousand leones (Le151, 496,000/00) property of Ibrahim Kabba.
First Prosecution witness (PW1) an Indian national Uttam Kahnchamdani a business man said he knew the complainant in the matter and recognized the accused person in the matter as his neighbor. He also recalled the 15th November 2021 something transferred between the complainant Ibrahim Kabba and the accused person at that day he was at his house working when he heard one of the office assistants Musa working in the shop shouting Zainab the accused person. He said he saw Musa with big blue plastic and was opened at that time he was at his gate and came out to ask the accused person what was going on; he didn’t respond. According to the witness, he said he saw the accused throwing, assorted rums in the accused person’s compound and he asked Musa to go to the shop; he also asked his colleagues to take photographs of the items thrown in the complainant compound.
The accused person refused to open the gate, said the witness but he later called the police to conduct search in the house at that time Mr. Kabbia and his sister’s son were in the compound with the police.

Cross examination by defense counsel, Ibrahim S.Y Kamara putting his question to the witness did you see the accused person inside your shop; the witness said no and you did not see him removing items from your shop the witness said no, was she the only one living in the compound the witness said he can’t tell.
Police constable 12090 Zainab Y Bangura Prosecuting the matter, and has been adjourned to the 20th December 2021.
