Ibrahim Kalokoh alia Kartel or Fayia now deceased, Festus Mansaray, alia Bigman or Wise-k, Alhaji Steven Bangura alias Stegal and Alpha Umaru Jalloh alias Maju appeared before Justice John Bosco Alieu Sesay on the 2nd December 2021 on five count charges that on diverse days between the 1st Dec 2016 and the 22nd December 2016 at Freetown in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone conspired together with other persons Unknown robbed and murdered Retired Lieutenant General Samuel Omar Williams.
According to the particulars of offence on count 1 Ibrahim Kalokoh alias Kartel or Fayia, Festus Mansaray alias Bigman or wise-k, Alhaji Steven Bangura alias Stegal and alpha Umaru Jalloh alias Maju between the 1st and 22nd December 2016 at Freetown in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a felony to wit robbery and aggravation.
Ibrahim Kalokoh now deceased alias Kartel or Fayia, Festus Mansaray alias Bigman or wise-k, and Alhaji Steven Bangura alias Stegal on count 2 of robbery with aggravation contrary to section 23 (1) (a) of the larceny Act 1916 as repealed and replaced by section 2 of Act No. 16 of 1971 and that Alpha Umaru alias Maju accessary after the fact to the same offence.
The particulars of offence of count 2 stated that Ibrahim Kalokoh and others at Freetown in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone being armed with a shot gun robbed Rtd Lieutenant General Samuel Omar Williams of two mobile phones 6+ of the value of fourteen Million seven hundred thousand Leones, one black sierratel mobile phone, valued at two hundred thousand Leones, one Samsung galaxy edge valued at eleven million and twenty five hundred thousand Leones, one silver mac book pro apple laptop computer valued at eight million eight hundred and twenty thousand Leones, one sunny blue black computer valued at five million eight hundred and twenty thousand Leones, one silver colored portfolio valued at two million Leones, one small blue black colored travelling bag valued at five hundred thousand Leones, one gold colored bracelet valued at seven million three hundred and fifty thousand Leones, one gold colored necklace valued at five million eight hundred and eighty thousand all to the total value of fifty six million three hundred and fifty five thousand Leones (56,355,000,00)
That alpha Umaru alias Maju knowing well that Ibrahim on the 2nd December 2016 at Freetown in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone robbed Rtd Lieutenant general Samuel Omar Williams on the same day and other days afterwards received, comforted, harbored, assisted and maintained that the said Ibrahim Kalokoh on Count 3 and others engaged in robbery with aggravation contrary to section 23 (1) (a) of the larceny Act1916 as repealed and replaced by section 2 of Act No.16 of 1971
That Ibrahim and others on the 22nd December 2016 at Freetown in the western area of the republic of Sierra LEONE BEING ARMED WITH A SHOTGUN ROBBED Abdulai Barrie of one Samsung galaxy edge 4 mobile phones valued at eleven million and twenty thousand Leones and that alpha Umaru alias Maju knowing well on the same day and other days afterwards comforted, assisted, harbored and maintained that the said Ibrahim Kalokoh on count 4 and others engaged in robbery with aggravation contrary to section 23 (1) (a) of Act No. 16 of 1971.
That Ibrahim and others on the 22nd December 2016 being armed with a shot gun robbed Mohamed thoronka of one mobile phone valued at seven million three hundred and fifty thousand Leones.
And on count 5 that Ibrahim and others murdered Rtd Lieutenant Samuel Omar Williams.
The particulars on count 5 stated that Ibrahim and others on the 22nd December 2016 murdered Rtd Lieutenant Samuel Omar Williams and that alpha Umaru alias Maju comforted, assisted, and harbored the said Ibrahim Kalokoh now deceased.
Prosecution witness Brima Koroma a detective said the accused in his voluntary caution statement confessed to that and the other accused persons went to the house of former chief of defense staff Rtd Lieutenant Samuel Omar Williams robbed and murdered him.
He continued that the accused after the incident left town for makeni where he was arrested, the second accused person who is now the first accused in his voluntary caution statement said immediately after the incident he left with his girlfriend to the village, but the girlfriend refused to go with him, he said at the village he visited his childhood friend and slept at his house most of the time, he said because he and the stepmother do not get along so well, he said he was at his friend’s house when the police came looking for him and asking after his name.
In his voluntary caution statement he said he identified himself to the police and immediately he was arrested.
Representation for the accused persons is Momoh whilst the state counsel is OV Robbin Mason, the matter has been adjourned to the 9th December 2021.
