The police witness, Constable M. Kamanda, in a robbery matter between the Inspector General of police and Osman Kabia and six others, has said in court that at the resident of Complainant Matthew Komba they discovered gun and armful implements including crew bars, giant cutters, and cutlasses among others.
The seven accused persons are before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No 1 for Preliminary Investigation on three count charges of conspiracy to commit felony, robbery with Aggravation and wounding contrary to section 20 of the offense against the persons Act of 1861.
According to the charge sheet, it was alleged that on Sunday 20th March 2021, the accused attacked and robbed with gun and armful implements, complainant Matthew Komba properties worth millions of Leones.
Fifth Prosecution witness (PW5) Sergeant 7331 Mohamed Momoh Sesay attached to the Major Incident Unit at the Criminal Investigation Department CID headquarters in Freetown said he recognized all the accused persons and recalled the 24th March 2021. He said while on duty a case and enquiry file was transferred to the CID headquarters for investigation and the matter was allocated to inspector Zorok which he teamed up with the Investigation team. The witness said he saw and endorsed police medical report form of the complainant and the said medical was produced and tendered in court.
The witness said on the 22nd day of April 2021 himself and police constable 13926 Obi Koroma interviewed the first and sixth accused persons in krio language and it was recorded in English language and the said statement was tender in court. PW5 said on the 9th August 2021 with the help of the scientific support Unit Cyber of the Cid headquarters arrested one Abdulai Marrah with one Samsung galaxy S10 mobile phone in which he alleged that the seventh accused person sold the phone to him. The witness said he led them to the house of the seventh accused person at Campbell Street and was arrested and later admitted that he is the one that sold the phone to Abdulai Marrah while he also bought the phone from one Sulaiman at Belgium.
The witness said on the 10th day of August himself and Sergeant 14154 Bangura A.L interviewed the 7th accused person and his statement was in the custody of the police the charge statement of the seventh accused person was tender in court.
At this stage, Magistrate Sahr Kekura adjourned the matter to the 10th of December 2021 for cross examination by defense counsel.
