NPPA BOSS UNITES 28 VILLAGES THROUGH SPORT

The third episode of the chief Ibrahim Brima swarray trophy has officially kicked-off over the weekend at its usual sport arena in Ngelehun Village, some few kilometres away from the city of Kenema. This is a month long exercise (26th Nov.-26Dec. 2021). It is an annual football gala that involve several villages and had being in effect since 2019. The addition of new communities to this race keeps the event tightly competitive every year and this current contest is featuring 28 teams, the highest since its 2019 inception with each team having 16 set of football jerseys.

This initiative has not only involved community members but also created job opportunities for residents across the district.

Expo Moriba Bockarie is the tournament’s spokesperson. He said the yearly events is born from the chief executive’s sole idea of fostering unity, adding that chief Ibrahim Brima Swarray dearly loves his people and have chosen sport as a methodology to getting them together.

“This is one way to appease your people. It would have been so difficult to satisfy everyone. But bringing all through sport means a lot, the huge quantum of active spectators on daily basis speaks volume,” Bockarie explained.

Answering question of the chief executive’s relentless engagement in sports and his government’s topmost agenda, the public relations officer said that Chief Ibrahim Brima Swarray is only doing all for the love of his people.The following are the prices in-terms of hierarchy of winners

Three Million Leones (Le-3,ooo,ooo) For winner

Two Million Leones   (Le-2,000,000) for first runner up

One Million Five Hundred Thousand Leones (Le-1,500 ,000) for second runner up

        &

One Million Leones (Le-1,000,000) for 4th position respectively.
