Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Iran also designated to Armenia His Excellency Ambassador Alie Badara Kamara has held discussions with Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports on joint cooperation in the education sector for both countries.
Ambassador Alie Badara Kamara stated that the Free Quality Education is the flagship program of President Dr Julius Madaa Bio’s government which is primarily designed to improve the human capital development in Sierra Leone. He further stated that the Free Quality Education has increased access to Quality Pre-Primary, Primary and Secondary School Education to University level whilst keeping in view Technical and Vocational Education Training.
Ambassador Alie Badara Kamara disclosed that the government of Sierra Leone have enrolled about 2.5 million pupils in to Primary and Secondary Schools while prioritizing scholarships to girls who have requirements to study Science in university. He assured the Armenia Minister of government openness to Cooperation in areas of scholarships for further studies especially for girls in the Country.
The Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Cultural and Sports in Armenia, Arthur Martirosyan, said he was delighted to meet with Ambassador Kamara as the two countries have had long bilateral ties in the area of business and will be pleased to deepen cooperation in the area of Education. He said their education system mirrors the European system which guarantees best practices in the industry.
He said they will coordinate experience sharing activities, platform for Teachers Training with the aim of attracting foreign students in Africa for both State and Private Universities in their country.
Other issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of Education and science were also discussed.
