Mohamed Suma ‘alias Susu boy’ has on Wednesday 23rd November 2021, appeared before Magistrate Peter Gogra of Court No. 6 Pademba Road, in Freetown to answer to a charge of obtaining credit at the Criminal Investigation Department by fraud.
The accused is charged with two counts, ranging from obtaining goods by credit other than false pretenses contrary to Section 13 (1) of Debtor Act 1816 and fraudulent conversation contrary to Section 20 (1) (4) (b) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the Particulars of offence on the police charge sheet on count 1, Mohamed Suma, ‘alias Susu’ boy on the 2nd September 2021, at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters, Freetown with intent to defraud, obtained certain property, that is to say one gold X Max I phone with 256 Gb valued three million Leones from the complainant Ibrahim Hamza Kargbo by falsely pretending that you were going to pay for it which is known to be false.
Count 2 states that the accused on the same date and place, fraudulently converted to his own use or benefit one gold color X Max I phone with 256 GB valued three million Leones.
When the charges were read to him he pleaded not guilty.
However, Magistrate Gogra granted ten million Leones bail to the accused person with two sureties in like sum, surety must be resident within his jurisdiction one surety must be employed bail to be approved by the Deputy Acting Registrar, and matter adjourned to the 10th December 2021.
