Joe and Maltida Benya foundation has awarded scholarship support to the Bah family in Mattru Jong Bonthe District. Awarding the scholarship support, the founder of the foundation Faith Gbujahun Tucker said the initiative of awarding the scholarship is to establish a signal point of memory for the late husband and wife (Mr. and Mrs. Benya of blessed memory) in the form of extensively assisting the most vulnerable in acquiring Higher Education
“Investing in human capital will soundly help in transforming the society desirably” Mr. Tucker maintained.
He further pointed out that although the foundation will start injecting its helping hand into other areas, academic trend will be a start of point.
One of the daughters of the late parents, Theresa Benya thanked the founder of the foundation for the great establishment and advised the beneficiaries to focus on nothing else in the university but their studies.
The first beneficiary of the foundation Alieu Bah in tears explained how the helping hand conversation all started between Him and the founder Faith Gbujahun Tucker.
His lengthy speech displayed his thankfulness and appreciation to his benefactor and the foundation, Plus his total commitment of remaining grateful altogether.
“I will ever remain grateful to this family as they have transformed my life from a bread baker to a university student a dream that I have ever wished for” Alieu Bah opined.
Meanwhile, Five Million Leones fees were awarded to Alieu Bah to read a Technical Diploma in Accounting (TDA) at Njala University whilst his colleague beneficiaries received Three Million Leones each.
The process according to the foundation will be a continual one upon completion of studies. Messages of thanks and appreciation by the beneficiaries including Madam Neneh Bah and her Elder sister Isatu Bah formed the high point of the said ceremony.
