Abdulai Benson Kamara has on the 3rd November,2021 made another appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on one count charge of obtaining money by false pretenses contrary to section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916 .
According to the charge sheet, it is stated that on a date between 14th of May to 30th May 2021 at No. 365 Bai Bureh Road Calaba Town the western area in Freetown with intent to defraud obtained the sum of eighty million one hundred and fifty five thousand Leone (80,145,000) from Sidique Mustapha by falsely pretending that you have building materials for sales knowing same to be false.
The charges was read to the accused person and pleaded not guilty.
The defence counsel, Michaela P George applied for bail on behalf of the accused person that he has fixed abode with credible Sierra Leoneans who are ready to enter into recognizance on his behalf and he will not jump bail.
However, Magistrate Kekura refused the bail application stating that the accused person is a flight risk and was arrested and brought to court, which indicates that he will jump bail if granted.
The accused person was sent to the correctional centre in Freetown, while ASP Aminatu Daboh and J.M French are Prosecuting the matter, and has been adjourned to the 8th November 2021.
