To be accorded as best among a galaxy of about 18 West Africa Leaders is not an easy evaluation. It requires brainstorming and its sublime purpose is to enhance good government in the midst of benevolent dictatorship and bureaucratic governance.
It reaffirms the confidence of all those who voted for the Rtd Brigadier that it was not misplaced. It was in fact the right choice now corroborated internationally.
Whether opponents of President like it or not it has happened. The organizers of the xxx are the Uhuru Raila Peace Accord who have for six years running been promoting excellence in democratic leadership in Africa.
In only three years the Ex Brigadier has so acquitted himself in good governance that the group just can’t wait for the man to complete his first term before applauding him.
Alexander Pope did write in an essay on man “Honor and shame from now condition rise; Act well your part, there all the hair lies.”
Is Bio not acting well his pat? Is he able to bribe that illustrious group to honor him?
He should be unmindful of those destructive critics who want to achieve governance overnight; those who use responsible for plaguing this country into an 11years civil war owing to corruption and injustice. This award is first a first step. By the time he finishes his second term which is waiting for him anxiously, he shall certainly clinch the new Mo Ibrahim prizes. All patriotic should thank the organizer of the award for voting for President Bio’s second term in advance. We shall follow suit
Second Attempt at Abortion Law
Passing of an abortion law is steeped in ethnical, religion and political consideration. The first consideration is when a fetus becomes human. It is eight weeks after fertilization therefore willfully aborting a fetus after that period can be considered as murder. And persons committing that act could putatively be quietly of murder. There are abundant instances in which gynecologists predict that giving birth to a fetus can be threat to the mother’s life or that of the baby. There are instance of rape in which no father can be identified, under such circumstance should abortion not be allowed? The people’s Alliance for Reproductive Health Agency (PARHA) has been doing a good job of wok but the call has not been heeded by the authorities. In 2016 the group renewed safe motherhood and reproductive bill was first introduced in Sierra Leone as a private member’s bill was voted unanimously by parliament but failed to receive the assent of Ex-president Ernest Koroma.
The non-Catholic Ex-President refused to give his assent to the bill becoming catholic for that purpose.
Now do we expect the Catholic incumbent president Bio who’s Church is against legalizing abortion to approve it? It will be an irony isn’t it? But ironies should happen. And President Bio is a man who always springs surprises. He does not go by the crowd. He may well give his assent to damn the skeptics.
The catholic have traveled the world upside down with regard to sex. They believe in celibacy while indulging in pedophaelism which is unnatural. They pretend to be oblivious of the fact that their St. Peter for whom there is a basilica in Rome had a mother-in – law meaning he had a wife. Their priests have father many orphans. Why the hypocrite?
It is hoped that our West Africa Best will sign this bill in his march to clinch Mo Ibrahim wretch Awards MO Ibrahim. I could foresee him reaching for the pen with the green ink. Do it and be different!
