Lamin Conteh, Abdul Brima Kargbo, Osman Bangura and two others made their first appearance before Magistrate Hadiru K Daboh of Ross Road Court No.3 in Freetown on six count charges to wit Conspiracy to commit a crime contrary to law, Riotous conduct contrary to Section 12 (1) of the Public Order Act No.46 of 1965 as repealed and replaced by Act No15 of 1973, disorderly behavior contrary to section 12 of the public order Act No.46 of 1965 as repealed and replaced by Section 12 (a) of Act No15 of 1973, carrying offensive weapons without lawful authority or reasonable excuse contrary to section 16 (1) of the Public Order Act No.46 of 1965, unlawful possession of cannabis sativa contrary to section 48 (1) of pharmacy and drugs Act 2001 and Trespass contrary to section 15 (1) (b) of the Public Order Act No.46 of 1965.
According to the particulars of offence on Saturday 23rd October 2021 at upper Allen Town the western area in Freetown conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a crime to wit Riotous conduct, disorderly behavior, carrying offensive weapon to wit two cutlasses, Trespass and unlawful possession of cannabis sativa.
Lawyer representing all accused persons A. Koroma address the magistrate Daboh that the first accused person was granted bail at the police station because he sustained serious injuries and he was asked to scan his head and the second accused person is a military officer he’s no longer in the matter.
However Magistrate Hadiru K Daboh responding to him and said he cannot go ahead with the matter because of the absence of the 1st and 3nd accused person and he didn’t have idea on that and what has brought before him will be the one he will act on.
Magistrate Daboh sent all the accused persons that are present in court to the male correctional center in Freetown and adjourned the matter to the 1st November 2021, while Inspector A. Kamara is prosecuting.
