The State Prosecutor made an application for an expert motion which was dated on the 21st October, 2021 pursuant to section 83(1) of the Anti- Corruption Act as he relied on the entire affidavit with particular reference to paragraphs 3 to 5.
Justice Cosmotina Jarrett granted the bail for no disclosure of the witness and the witness for the proceeding was called ‘Clouds11’.
When PW3 was testifying in court Clouds 11 said he knew the accused persons as he was about to travel out of the country and he was afraid of the COVID-19 vaccine load so he was trying hard to get the COVID-19 vaccination card.
Clouds 11 said he went to Macaulay Street Satellite Hospital where he met the first accused person Gabriel Kamara requesting for COVID-19 vaccine card without his taken the COVID-19 vaccine.
Witness continued to say the first accused person him that they are not doing the COVID-19 test at the hospital and he left for Regent Road along Circular Road while he was at Regent Road the first accused person followed him and told him that he will that he will able to do it at a cost of three hundred thousand Leones and later the accused person took his details and they exchange telephone numbers. Witness said the first accused called him by 2:00 so that they will meet at Goderich Street junction in other for him to collect the COVID-19 card and pay him the money.
Clouds 11 said he called at the exert time and said they must meet at SALPOST headquarter office at Siaka Stevens Street.
PW3 said the first accused person arrived with the second accused person Micheal Abdulia and he asked the first accused who is the second accuse he said he is my colleague working for DICOVERC.
The first accused person took out the COVID-19 vaccine card with all his details on it and then I took the three hundred thousand Leones and give it to the first accused person while the first accused person was counting the money we were all arrested by a group of men from the ACC.
He added that during the time of the arrest the second accused ran away and was chased and arrested and we were taken to the CID office for further investigation and the COVID-19 vaccination card was taken away from him by the ACC investigation.
Under cross examination Defense Counsel Hassan D. Timbo asked the witness if he sees or hear both accused persons discussing the said offense.
Witness said yes, Defense asked witness if he saw exhibit B COVID-19 vaccination card with serial number 139388 the name stated there is not your name. He said yes.
Defense asked the witness if he has ever taken the COVID-19 vaccination. Witness said it is personal he will not disclose it to the public. Defense asked witness the COVID-19 card have EOI number what is the number. Witness said he is not medical practitioner.
However, Justice Jarrett adjourned the matter to the 4th November, 2021.
