Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) head of Department and Licensing Manager, Sorie Ibrahim Sesay has called on Premier league Clubs, first and second Division Football clubs to submit their clubs details.
According to Sorie Ibrahim Sesay these information came from the African Football Confederation who has decided to launch a new project of registering football clubs online that are affiliated to Member Associations in the continent effective 2022/ 23 football season.
He affirmed that CAF has directed that every premier league, first and second division football clubs affiliated to its Member Association MUST provide to the Club Licensing department of the Football Association the following information which shall be input into the new online system on or before the 25th October 2021.
Below are the following the Confederation of Africa Football is asking all clubs to meet:
1. Name of club
2. Year founded or established
3. City or District of existence
3 .Team colors
4. Playing Venue / stadium
5. Name and email address of club President
6. Name and email address of club secretary
7. Name of Female football club
8. Year founded
9 Team colors
10. Playing venue or stadium
11. Name and email address of club President
12. Name and email address of club secretary
He further that these directives came after the successful conclusion of a zoom meeting on (30th September, 2021) held by CAF for Club licensing Managers of their MAs.
Clubs that failed to comply with these directives at the stipulated time will not be included in the new online system and their existence will not be recognized by CAF.
In view of the aforementioned, the Club licensing department of the SLFA is kindly requesting ALL Divisional football clubs nationwide to provide these details.
Sorie Ibrahim Sesay said CAF have decided to give it final warning to clubs that want to take part in their inter clubs competitions should reach the club License requirements, he said over the past years the Competitions Department has been facing serious challenge because clubs where not compiling to the directives of CAF Regulations and the new projects state it clearly that every first Division and second Division clubs should have a female team if the club is not eligible to play inter- club competitions.
He further that these Laws have been into existence for years now but it only now that CAF want to enforce it our clubs back home are complaining about the short notice, he said the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) is very firm it Laws because they want to see the development of female Football in Africa
“If a club failed to comply the club is not going to part in our competitions.”
If the these Law is applied most of our clubs back home don’t have these structures in place and lots then are not going to make it to the final intake.
