It could be recalled that on the 19th August 2021 which was World Photography Day and celebrated in Port Loko District, the Union deliberated on many issues affecting their work and came up with numerous resolutions to be presented to the government.
The Resolutions which are dubbed the Port Loko Resolutions were presented to the Honorable Minister of Information and Communications by the entire executive of the union on Thursday September 23, 2021.
The Minister upon receipt of the Resolutions commended the Union for their zest and enthusiasm in pushing the aspirations of the union. He applauded them for staying afloat amidst all the challenges and the threats to their trade, from emerging technologies.
The Minister encouraged them to be creative and innovative so that they can achieve their goals and compete with others. “These days there are so many photographers; everyone is a photographer but what makes you different is your professionalism,” the Minister said.
The Minister informed them of government’s commitment to look into their Resolutions as President Julius Maada Bio believes in Human Capital Development. He further encouraged them to take full advantage of the Skills Development Fund that was recently launched.
The Vice President of the Union Mr. Tenesie Yamba read out some of the Resolutions and thanked the Minister for his support and time to engage the Union.
