Sierra Leonean German based artist, Negro X has implored youths of Africa, especially the youths of Sierra Leone to stay focus and explore avenues for their upliftment “as long as it is done in the right way, just go ahead brothers”, he emphasized.
Negro X landed at the Lungi International Airport couple of days ago, as he put it, “to feel at home with my youths and give them the positive vibes to big up their statuses”. Born to a Temne Mother and a Fullah Father, the Reggae Artist, Ahmed Samba Bah who had grabbed a copy of A-Z’s second edition which features his works, said to some youths in Freetown that with focus they can achieve their dreams no matter how rugged the road is.
He called on those in the music industry like himself to endeavor to send their songs to social media platforms where they can actualize some amount of money no matter how small it will be, half bread is better than none, he stressed.
He said young artists here had been making money for the Cassette Sellers through their voices at the end of the day the royalty paid was not good to write home about. He said the Covid pandemic landed like a sledged hammer on the growing music industry which has put the youths in difficulties ever since it struck.
Nevertheless, the youths have to endure and remain focused devoid of drugs and violence, he admonished. Negro X started his singing career in Freetown where his talent was first spotted but stemmed down due to his Islamic background. When he moved to Germany in search of greener pastures, he realized that he should continue with his music career to a higher height giving the new opportunities he found in that country.
He started with rap music until approached by his first Producer, Christian Brauer, and a German, who introduced him to live band music in Harford.
With the support of Christian, a good number of tracks were recorded and performances done around Europe. His ongoing fourth album titled: EXTERNAL is in progress, it portrays social livity, love and respect for humanity.
