Slyvanus Abu Bakarr Koroma popularly known as Daddi Cool has informed A-Z Newspaper that he is remastering over one hundred songs out of his archives adding that his album titled: Life is Mystical will be out to coincide with the first Faces Reggae Festival in November.
Daddi Cool has been in the country from Mali where he recorded some hits with Manjul. He was in Guinea before that but decided to leave that country after encountering serious threats from the Lansana Conteh administration. The second album he did in Guinea with Buba Rasta also had hiccups so he traveled to Mali. ‘I still have a strong fan base in Guinea”, he noted,
Adding that he wants to restore the reggae business to mama Salone.
Daddi Cool recalled how the late Mallam of the Refugee All Stars fame brought him into music in Makeni, his home town at age 10.
“My business now is to record and remaster more songs to help resuscitate live band music in Sierra Leone,” Daddi Cool lamented.
Having served in the Military Dance Band of the Sierra Leone Army as leading vocalist, Daddi Cool said he dedicates his time to musical organizations because together the reggae industry will grow fast in the sub region and that will lead to economic boosts through tourism and other means. As a matter of fact, he is the Deputy Chairman of the newly formed Sierra Leone Reggae Movement that is gearing towards playing its role in making Sierra Leone green.
