Edmond Kabia, Crane operator working at Addax Makeni, has on the 22nd November 2021, appeared before Magistrate Hadiru K Daboh of Ross Road Court No 3 Freetown for obtaining twenty million Leones from Simbarashe Kingdom Hurashm for vehicle knowing to be false.
The accused is charged with two counts of conspiracy to defraud contrary to law and obtaining money by false pretenses contrary to Section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916. According to the charge sheet on count 1, the accused Edmond Kabia on Thursday 27th May 2021at Rokel, conspired together with other person’s unknown to defraud to wit obtaining money by false pretenses.
Count 2 the accused on the same date and place with intent to defraud obtained the sum of two thousand united state dollars, equivalent to twenty million Leones, by falsely pretending that he has one Nissan Premier Car for sale which is known to be false.
The charges were read to the accused person and he pleaded not guilty, and was not legally represented.
However, Magistrate Daboh sent the accused person to the male correctional center in Freetown, and Sergeant 7891 M.M George is Prosecuting the matter, and has been adjourned 23rd November 2021.
