Ezekiel Tamba Gbembo a Practising Journalist working for Radio New Song FM 91.3 in Kono District has been reportedly beaten by a group of youths believed to be residents of Bandakor around KDEC area in Koidu City.
According to Ezekiel the unidentified youths who allegedly beat him up thereby inflicting bodily hard on him were allegedly sent by a woman identified as Mariama of the aforementioned address.
He said whilst in search of his underage sister who absconded for a night, he met her inside the room of one of the youths that tortured him noting that haven taken her sister back home, asking where she slept, the woman identified as Mariama allegedly hired some unidentified youths to beat him so that the case which his family wanted to build against the boy who harboured his sister, the underage girl will be destroyed.
Ezekiel Tamba Gbembo maintained that it was in that vein, the unidentified youths descended on him at his home and inflicted multiple wounds on his head.
Meanwhile, the residence of the woman who allegedly hired the youths to beat up the practising Journalist is alleged to be a notorious place for the sale and consumption of drugs. Police at the Criminal Investigations Department at the Tankoro Police Divisional Headquarters are investigating the matter.
