Mohamed Amara, a 32-year-old man, made another appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura on three counts related to an alleged attack on Sallia Kallon. The charges include wounding with intent, wounding, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, all of which are contrary to Section 47 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861.

According to the particulars of the offence, on Monday, 3rd February 2025, at Charlotte Village in the Western Area of Freetown, Amara allegedly wounded Sallia Kallon with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm.

Further, the second and third counts indicate that on the same date and location, the accused maliciously wounded and assaulted Kallon, resulting in actual bodily harm.

When the charges were read and explained to Amara, no plea was taken.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Florence M. Wilson, closed her case, and the file was withdrawn for ruling.

Magistrate Bangura, after reviewing the evidence presented by the prosecution, ruled that a prima facie case had been established. He therefore committed the matter to the High Court for trial.

Magistrate Bangura granted bail to Amara in the sum of Le30,000, with two sureties in like sum. The sureties must be responsible citizens and present valid identity cards that show their addresses in Freetown. Bail is subject to approval by the Deputy Assistant Registrar.
