An unemployed youth, Jacob Julius Renner, has made his first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura at the Pademba Road Court No. 1 in Freetown. He faces three counts: wounding with intent, wounding, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, all contrary to Section 47 of the Offences Against the Person Act of 1861.

According to the charge sheet, the alleged incident occurred on Friday, 17th January 2025, at Brookfields in the Western Area of Freetown, where Renner is accused of wounding John Bangura.

Counts two and three further state that on the same date and at the same location, the accused maliciously wounded and assaulted the complainant, causing actual bodily harm.

When the charges were read and explained in court, no plea was taken from the accused.

Prosecuting officer, Sergeant 8975 Bangura I.S., requested a short adjournment to hold a proper conference with the witness.

In the meantime, Magistrate Kekura refused bail and remanded the accused at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown. The matter was adjourned to 14th April 2025.
