32yrs old Abu Bakarr Bangura operation officer made his first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on two count charges to wit Conspiracy to commit a crime contrary to law and Larceny.
According to the particulars of offence on Monday 21st March 2022 at No.98b Tulap free drive Tuma resort Rosin Village Lungi in the Kaffu Bullom Chiefdom Portloko the Northern Province in Freetown conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a crime to wit larceny on count two at the same place and date stole the sum of twenty two thousand united States dollars equivalent to two hundred and sixty four million Leones (264,000,000) property of Hawa Natu Sanu.
The charges were read and explained to the accused person and pleaded not guilty.
Counsel representing the accused person, A.B Kamara applied for bail for and on behalf of the accused person pursuant to section 79 2 of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965 that the accused person is a Sierra Leonean ordinarily resident within this jurisdiction that he has reliable sureties who are willing and ready to enter into recognizance on his behalf he is not a flight risk.
Magistrate Kekura giving his ruling said upon hearing the application made by the defence counsel in perusing the affidavit in opposition for bail the defence counsel relied on section 79 2 of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965 which referring to felonies offence he refused bail and sent the accused person to the male correctional center in Freetown.
