Amid allegations of key stakeholders clandestinely promoting its importation, youths are speaking out about the devastating impact of kush on their lives and futures.
Speaking to our correspondent, Sahr David Senesie, a victim of kush addiction, lamented the dire situation facing many youths. He emphasized the insidious nature of addiction, describing how their bodies crave the substance relentlessly. Senesie highlighted the erosion of promising futures, with many youths dropping out of school and losing the support of proud parents due to their addiction.
The youths of Kono District propose a critical solution: the government must take decisive action to prevent the importation, sale, and consumption of kush. They argue that without cutting off the supply chain, efforts to combat harmful substances will be futile. Senesie emphasized that despite individual attempts to break free from addiction, the pervasive availability of kush undermines their efforts at every turn.
Echoing these sentiments, other residents of Kono District underscored the urgency of government intervention. They assert that if the government were genuinely committed to the fight against harmful substances, the situation would not have reached such critical levels. Residents urge authorities to utilize all available resources to crack down on importers and sellers of these dangerous drugs.
