Sierra Leonean-born YAKUBA KOROMA, affectionately known as Alvez, showcased an exceptional performance during the 2024/2025 season, helping East End Lions FC secure the Leone Rock Premier League title.

The formidable defender delivered impressive displays throughout the season, playing a critical role in the team’s success. Over the course of 21 matches, KOROMA scored three goals and provided seven assists, both of which were vital to the team’s championship victory.

In the previous 2023/2024 season, KOROMA played 30 matches for East End Lions FC, contributing four goals and eleven assists a standout performance in what was his first spell with the club.

He also participated in the 2023/2024 CAF Confederation Cup Preliminary Qualifiers against ASC Jaaraf FC from Senegal, appearing in both home and away matches, although East End Lions FC was eliminated on goal difference.

After lifting the 2024/2025 Sierra Leone Premier League title, KOROMA expressed his excitement, stating, “I feel very excited because winning the league has been my dream all along. It’s a great achievement for me and the club, especially since it’s been four years since East End Lions last lifted the trophy. Being part of this victory is a dream come true, and I’m looking forward to more trophies and opportunities abroad.”

Following their last season’s performance, the club is set to compete in the CAF Champions League qualifiers against US Monastir of Tunisia. KOROMA emphasized, “Playing in CAF competitions is every footballer’s dream. It offers the chance for more opportunities in Europe and around the world.”

A versatile player, Koroma excels as a right-back but can also play as a central defender. He aims for an even better season when the new campaign kicks off in October 2025.
