Wusum Stars Football club based in Makeni the Northern part of Sierra Leone on Sunday 16th May 2021 defeated BO Rangers Football the big money spenders to go top of the Sierra Leone Premier League; the match took place at the Wusum Mini Stadium, Makeni district.
Alimamy Buya Kamara’s goal did not only yank off Wusum Stars with 11 points to top league table in a provincial home affair, but it also refreshed the parts that Bo Rangers could not reach.
Many football pundits described the encounter as Goliath falling under the weight of David.
The hills of Wusum echoed the songs of daring Northern fans who marched, danced, and blared strings of cooperative endurance to face millionaire Bo Rangers who had breezed into Makeni to only suffer a decorated loss that brought them down to the 4th place.

In the other matches on Saturday at the Siaka Stevens Stadium East End Lions (Killers) got a comfortable win against East End Tigers Football as they defeated them by three goals to nil,(3-0).
The head coach of East End Lions Ibrahim Sillah said “I personal feel reliefs to have secured my second win in the league though it not easy but my boys were up to task and give the team the desired three points.”
According to the Caretaker coach of East End Tigers football club Musa Jalloh “My boys failed to make used of their chances especially the penalty which they failed to converts. We will go back to the drawing board and ratify the errors and prepared for our next match against Mighty Black pool”.
At the Port LOKO Mini Stadium Bai Bureh Warriors beat Diamond Stars of KONO by a goal to nil, this help the Warriors to return to win ways after they suffered a defeat last week against Central Parade at the Parade Grounds the Central part of Freetown.
At the Parade Grounds on Saturday the 4:15 kick off Central Parade settled to a goalless draw with Anti-Drugs Football club (0-0) the head coach of Central Parade Mohamed Lamin Kamara said ” I am disappointed with the performance of my boys in today match, though the team we played was a strong side but my boys failed to make used of their chances it football we will bounce back.”
According to the head coach of Anti-Drugs football club Raymond Hunter his boys were not clinical in the find third that cause them not to win the match but so far he is impressed with the performance of his boys though they failed to take the all three points they now prepared to face Diamond Stars on Saturday at the Koidu Mini Stadium.
The final match on Sunday Freetown City Council settled to a goalless draw with FC Johansen Football club at the Siaka Stevens Stadium.
