Women’s Premier League Board Pays Courtesy Visit to Sierra Leone Football Association President

The Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League Board, led by its Chairperson, Honorable Mariatu Rachel Pessima, paid a courtesy visit to the President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, on October 14, 2025, at the SLFA Secretariat in Kingtom, Freetown.

The delegation was warmly received by SLFA Acting General Secretary, Mohamed Benson Bawoh, and the Women’s Football Manager, Elizabeth Alberta Kailey. The purpose of the visit was to discuss the Board’s ongoing preparations for the 2025/2026 Women’s Premier League season.

In her remarks, Honorable Pessima expressed optimism about the upcoming season, stating that it is expected to be one of the best in the history of the competition. She also highlighted that clubs have already started registering through SLFA Connect, an online platform designed to improve transparency, efficiency, and stakeholder management in Sierra Leonean football.

SLFA President Babadi Kamara welcomed the Board members and reiterated the Association’s strong commitment to supporting the growth and development of women’s football in the country. He commended the Board for its dedication and professionalism, emphasizing that the Women’s Premier League is a key platform for identifying and nurturing the immense talents of female footballers across Sierra Leone.

President Kamara encouraged the Board to maintain its focus on excellence, with the goal of making the Women’s Premier League one of the most competitive and respected women’s football leagues in Africa.
