The Media and Communications Officer of the Motema Police Divisional Headquarters in Kono District, Thompson Peter Ndapi, has revealed that the division recorded at least two murder cases and two stabbing incidents between January and April this year.
Ndapi made this disclosure while speaking to our correspondent regarding a recent stabbing incident reported at the Koakoyima Police Post, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Motema Police Division. The case involved one Abdulai Morsay, a resident of Sinnah Compound in Koakoyima Town, Koidu City, Kono District.
When asked about the action taken against the suspects, Ndapi confirmed that the perpetrators of the reported offences have been arrested, investigated, and charged to court to face the full penalties of the law.
He further stated that almost all the murder and stabbing cases recorded by the division within the stated period were allegedly perpetrated by women. According to him, this trend indicates that women are increasingly taking the lead in domestic violence incidents against men in the district.
Mr. Ndapi described the situation as a serious threat to national security and assured the public of the police division’s continued commitment to tackling the menace of domestic violence in all its forms.
