Zainab Sesay has been dragged to court for allegedly assaulting the project officer for the Ministry of Youth, Addison Abubakarr Tarawally.
The accused Zainab Sesay on Tuesday 11th March 2023, appeared before Magistrate Hadiru Daboh of Court No 3 Ross Road, Freetown, on 2 counts.
Count 1 depicts that statement of offence including wounding contrary to Section 20 of the Offences against the Person Act 1861 and assault occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to Section 47 of the Offences against the Person Act 1861.
According to the charge sheet, the accused Zainab Sesay on Friday 27th January 2023, at Lions Field Kissy Dockyard Freetown, maliciously wounded Addison Abubakarr Tarawally.
Count 2 states that the accused on the same date and place assaulted Addison Abubakarr Tarawally in a manner thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.
According to the complainant Addison Abubakarr Tarawally, the accused Zainab Sesay and others whom he could not remember attacked him at the field assaulting him mercilessly and stole his phone costing five million Leones.
He said, he was rescued by a soldier and the accused Zainab was arrested while the others ran away. But the accused relatives had paid for the phone but the matter is still ongoing.
The accused was remanded in custody until the 21st of April 2023. Sergeant 9095 Hassan Fofanah was the one Prosecuting the matter.
