The naked and lifeless body of one 25yrs Old Woman, Ramatu Bangura was found in Bamoi Luma, Kambia District.
According to Crime Officer of Kambia Police division, Detective INSP JB Lahai, he received information from the Chairman of Local Policing Partnership Board (LPPB) Bamoi Luma, Lansana Mansaray that whilst he was on his usual patrolling to enforce the Covid- 19 regulations he discovered a young female corpse lying along Tamba street, Bamoi Luma.
The crime officer continue to explain that upon receiving such information a team of detectives accompanied by the Support Officer Kambia Police Division, Sup Abu Bakarr Magona visited the scene of crime, the team discovered the deceased lying on her stomach with her face down on the ground and both hands were tied up behind her back.
In the process one Morlai Mohammed Bangura of New London Bamoi Luma arrived at the scene and identified the corpse to be his biological sister called Ramatu Mohammed Bangura who was also a resident of New London Bamoi luma.
However, the remains of the 25yrs old woman were conveyed to the Kambia government Hospital mortuary for an autopsy examination while investigation is in progress.
Bamoi luma is a central business area were traders across West Africa ranging from Guinea, Liberia Gambia and Sierra Leone converge to transact business in different goods.
According to the district headman, crime rate is always high in that locality compared to other areas across the district because of the cross border activities.. He finally called on the on the law enforcement outfits to intensify security alertness in forestalling and unearthing such heinous crimes.
