General Overseer of the House FC William Kanu aka Lion Man has heaped praises on Mandela FC after his side won in the group stage at the Brima Atouga complex.
The House FC saw off Mandela Community to advance to the FAMSO round of 16. The House worked hard for their 1-0 victory with the opponent forcing them to find a winner after a stoic defensive performance at the Atouga complex.
“Good game, auctioned the game we wanted to play; House FC General Overseer said. A really good offensive and defensive performance by the team and it shows we are getting there”.
“I saw committed players and that is what I appreciate and that’s what we have to do always”.
He continued “I think we competed really well because it’s a strong team and the boys defended well, which is very hard because they played really well”.
“Now our focus is on the round of (16) and the aim is to win this year’s community league, we have to play against the best teams in the competition and my boys are physically and mentally prepared for the challenges ahead”.
When asked whether side is good enough to win the tournament; he said: “Why not, he asked. We are in the tournament to grab the champion’s trophy not to participate”. We hope for the better as the tournament is getting tougher, he stressed.
