Initially trained as a science teacher, Bishop Solomon Scott Manga taught at the Queen of Rosary School ( QRS) for some time before answering his call to serve as a priest. He served as diocesan secretary under the respected Bishop S. S. Gbonda. In 2016, he started a Junior Secondary school called St. Paul’s.

That school was built with help from partners in West Wittering Village in the United Kingdom. That under his leadership has become a senior secondary school now approved by the government. Right, Rev. Scott Manga rose to the position of president, of the Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools in Sierra Leone. In 2019, he was consecrated as bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Bo and Kenema.

Three years on as bishop he has achieved some notable developments in a diocese whose image was battered by the preceding bishop, Tucker. Even in the face of donor hesitancy he has managed to recover property of the diocese, built a church at Moyamba junction, rehabilitated health facilities at Kangahun, and secured land in Kailahun district to build a church there among others.

Accommodation was an issue for workers, and he built quarters for nurses in Kangahun also. ” I am not going to give up on counting on our donor partners as more needs to be done “, he told this medium. The Anglican church is one of the most renowned churches in the world as was seen during the funeral service of the late Queen Elizabeth in England.

The service was done on time and ordered and the building is one of the best worship places on earth.
