The West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Zone A has appointed Ibrahim Kamara, the Head of Media and Marketing at the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), as the Media and Marketing Officer for the upcoming CAF Africa Cup of Nations U-17 Qualifiers, WAFU A Edition, scheduled to take place in Bamako, Mali from Friday, September 3 to Saturday, September 18, 2025.
Kamara’s appointment to this prestigious position highlights Sierra Leone’s growing influence in African football. His role will focus on managing media relations and marketing strategies for the tournament, ensuring its success and broad visibility.
In addition to Kamara’s appointment, two Sierra Leonean FIFA referees have also been selected for the tournament: Sulaiman Sanito Kamara as Center Referee and Mamdou Aliye Conteh as Assistant Referee. These appointments reflect the recognition of Sierra Leonean officials on the continental stage and contribute to the country’s increasing presence in African football.
