The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Mighty Blackpool Football Club, Ibrahim Sahid Sankoh, has declared that the club will stop at nothing to secure justice in their ongoing dispute, even if it means escalating the matter to international football authorities.
Speaking to Awoko Sports, Sankoh disclosed that the club has already compiled all necessary documents and is prepared to present its case before the FIFA Disciplinary Committee. He expressed gratitude that Mighty Blackpool’s registration was completed through the FIFA Connect system, which he believes strengthens their case.
Sankoh revealed that on Tuesday, 26th August 2025, the club intends to formally submit a petition to FIFA, after repeated attempts to seek redress locally failed. “We have reported this issue to all relevant bodies, including the new executive of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), the Minister of Sports, and the Executive Director of the National Sports Authority, but we have received no response. That is why, as a club, we have decided to take this matter to FIFA for justice,” he emphasized.
Meanwhile, Premier League Board Chairman, Justice Mark Ngegba, distanced himself from the controversy, stating he had “no idea where the Disciplinary Committee’s decision comes from” and insisted it was “certainly not from him.”
The move by Mighty Blackpool sets the stage for what could become a high-profile case at the international level, with implications for Sierra Leone’s football governance and credibility before FIFA.
