Chief Executive Officer of The House FC, William Kanu insists he has not been surprised by the last-16 opponents at the Hasting’s Community ongoing FAMSO Inter Community league.

Kanu, whose side take on the Hasting Community in the first round-of-16 match on Monday after securing a round of 16 spot, believes Hasting side are one of the best-drilled teams at the competition.

Kanu said “It’s a process and perhaps the Hasting hadn’t expected that from this squad, but they are good side, its crystal clear they’ve had opportunities. I don’t think it’s a surprise to be quite frank”.

“They have an excellent ‘team’. I would say one of the best ‘teams’ because securing a round 16 spot is not an easy tax, so it’s going to be a very tough match. But it’s nothing we can’t overcome. We also have a good team, that’s my view. We’ll have to wait and see in this match which of the two squads is the best. I’m not going to downplay them. On the contrary, they’re an example of what a good team is supposed to be. There are also teams who have progressed who are a good ‘team’, but we have excellent individual qualities,” he explained.

“Our boys need to give their 100% all to get the three points because in football the lucky sides win but am confident we can reach the quarter final stage no disrespect to them”, he stated.

He however called on the fans to go in numbers to rally behind the team. “They have been very supportive to the team. Winning the tournament will be dream come true. To the diaspora they have been supportive financially, so we all have to come onboard collectively to make this dream a reality”, he concluded.
