The Chairman of the Western Area Rural District Council(WARDC) – Kasho J. Holland Cole has on Tuesday 4th October, 2022 engaged Women and Youths in the Western Area Rural District at his office in Waterloo.
In his statement, Chairman Kasho J. Holland Cole said that he called on them to inform them about the council`s intention to bring all the women and youths in the district under one umbrella as the next council budget will be “The People’s Budget”.
The People’s Budget is about the people leading projects about themselves whiles the council is going to make sure the finance is available to support what they want as development and capacity building.
The Ag. Chief Administrator, Mr Alhassan Yillah said that they are going to be responsible to galvanize women and youths in the district through an organised & effective body that will be named “Western Area Rural District Women Network ” and the “Western Area Rural District Youth Network for development” respectively.
In their responses various speakers from the Women and Youths welcomed the idea and said this is the first time such is happening in the history of the council.
They promised to commit themselves to make such kind project succeed in the district.
Women and Youths from the four corners of the Western Area Rural District attended the meeting and made their comments and suggestions.
The Engagement will continue today with people with disability and children in the Western Area Rural District.
