As nomination activities for village heads ends in a peaceful atmosphere, the current Headman for the Masantigie Community, Mohammed Otaim Kanu popularly called ‘Kortor Yoroh’ went unopposed during his nomination exercise.
Kortor Yoroh who is confident to be the next Headman for the Masantigie Community was nominated on Friday, 6th October, 2023 at the Brama Community Centre, Off Six Mile, Koya Chiefdom,Port Loko District together with Abass Kabia representing Matainkay Village who is seriously battling with his tight or close rival, Pastor Kamanda at the upcoming village heads elections which will be conducted by the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone ( ECSL) scheduled to take place 28th November 2023.
Notwithstanding, many among the happy and peaceful supporters for HM Kortor Yoroh told this reporter that it was not a surprise for him to go unopposed in such a rural setting administration, noting that his outstanding performances had speak volume, coupled with his good work and cordial relationship which he had been robustly established over the years with his motto: “Handshake”, which signifies unity and peace.
However, the nomination exercise was classed as entirely peaceful and successful as hundreds of supporters from both Masantigie and Matainkay communities were spotted dancing and jubilating together in favor of their aspiring headmen, HM, Kortor Yoroh and HM. Abass Kabbia amidst water tight security.
During the nomination ceremony, hundreds of supporters gathered at the Brama Community to jubilate for HM Kortor Yoroh for his numerous achievements the village has gained under his custody. The jubilate supporters were shouting loudly with confidence that their aspirant is now the hopeful candidate without contender and he will definitely continue to bring development projects for the village so that children yet unborn will inherit good community structures. They said Kortor Yoroh has done a lot of things to enhance development for his village with key dedication towards serving humanity for the sake of God almighty. They told other community Village Heads to emulate the blue print of Kortor Yoroh. However, dancing and singing climaxed the events as both villages collaboratively formed long convoy after concluding nominations and immediately moved the crowd from Brama Junction to Masantigie where die-hearted fans happily romanced with each other as a way of showing unweaving appreciations and national commitments on community issues.
