The Western Area Football Association has on the 25th May, 2021 confirmed the list of delegates ahead of the Sierra Leone football Association Elective Congress that is set to take place on the 4th and 5th June 2021.
The reasons for the confirmation of delegates came from a strategy meeting held on the 25th May 2021 with the Executive Committee to address the issues of delegates ahead of the SLFA Elective Congress. In the meeting, the Executive Committee unanimously agreed that Mount Aureole SLIFA Football now participating in the ongoing Sierra Leone Premier league has been replaced with Black Road Strikers Football club as the new delegate in the coming Elective Congress slated for the 4th and 5th May 2021, and a letters has been sent to the Sierra Leone football Association.
In other to avoid the omission of names of delegate and falsifying the list; the Executive Committee unanimously agreed to approve the following people as delegates for the Western Area Football Association:
1. Ahmed Samba Turay- Vice Chairman, Western Area Football Association
2. Alhaji Abdulrahman Davies – Chairman -Urban District Football Association
3. Mohamed Bello Yillah- Chairman Rural District Football Association
4. Raymond Samuel Lewis – Kissy All Stars Football club
5. Issa Conteh – Black Road Strikers football club
6. Collins Thomas – Murray Town Rovers Football club.
WAFA want to make it known to the public that any list of delegates submitted by the chairman of WAFA, Pastor Philip Buck to the Sierra Leone Football Association without the approval of the Executive Committee members is tantamount to illegality, because according to the Constitution of the Association no decision should be taken without the approval of the Executive Committee members.
The Western area Football Association is changed with the responsibility to run the affairs of Football in the Western Region.
