VP’s Voters’ Sensitization Message Grips Cattle Rearers in Bombali – Fullah Tribal Head

The impact of Vice President Juldeh Jalloh’s s voters’ registration message gained high momentum across the worrehs (cattle ranches) in Bombali District where he visited recently to explain the importance of the voter’s registration process which was scheduled to end Tuesday 4th October 2022.

According to the Fullah Tribal Head, Sheikh Yayah Sillah, over thirty worrehs were reached during his sensitization drive to reach hard-to-reach areas. He said over five thousand including the aged were reached in those worrehs adding that he and his team were able to cajole especially the aged to come out to be registered by the Election Commission of Sierra Leone (ECSL).

He told this medium that the message of the Vice President that those within the voting age should register and the message has been spread throughout noting that it has led to mass registration of the cattle ranchers in Batkanu, Kamasigie, Makoth and other villages within the district.

He said they were challenged with transporting the aged adding that they had to hire motorbikes to transport some people to the registration centre.

“After the August 10 riot in Bombali, some people ran to the ranches for safety”, said Mohamed Barrie, whose father has been a cattle rearer even before he was born. He informed this medium that they are thankful to the Fullah Tribal Head and the Vice President for reaching them even though their area is hard to reach.

It could be recalled that the Vice President had been to the provinces to tell Sierra Leoneans about the need to be registered in the concluded registration process.
