Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh has paid a visit to Kambia district where he was received by traditional leaders. He used the occasion to provide COVID 19 sensitization messages and updates on policy developments of government.
The Vice president stressed the need for unity and promotion of the culture of peace, He warned against tribalism as a vice that is counterproductive to national cohesion and sustainable peace and development.
He called on the traditional leaders to refrain from corrupt practices and put the interest of the subject as a matter of priority. He reminded the traditional leaders about the need to promote customary and traditional norms in holding the communities together.
Dr. Juldeh Jalloh donated huge quantity of bags of rice to the Paramount Chiefs..
The chiefs thanked the vice president for the donation and promised to uphold the good intentions of the new direction government.
They also recognized the valuable role of Ambassador Alimony in identifying with them always.
\ as he always fight hard to promote unity, togetherness, development and social cohesion in their respective Chiefdoms.
He has the fullest respect and consultative spirit for us and that we are enjoying our traditional powers under his great immunity and protection, said the traditions and religious leaders”.
The Paramount Chiefs in their best traditional wears promised fervently to hold into esteem the message and admonishment brought forward to them by one of their Brother in the same region.
“His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh is aware of the fact that their Paramount Chieftaincy Institutions are non-political, therefore they will continue to safeguard and Maintain their customs and traditions in a neutral ground in any shape or form.
The Traditional and religious leaders ended by thanking His Excellency Dr. Juldeh Jalloh for making Kambia District a priority for his timely visit. They promised to continue their social mobilization in the fight against Covid 19 always.
