Victims of the heavy storm and downpour that occurred on the 7th May 2022 in Gbane Chiefdom Kono District have benefited from food and non-food items provided by the Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh and indigenes of Gbane Chiefdom, Kono District based in the Diaspora. The items donated were food, household and building materials.
Some of the beneficiaries of the donated items who spoke to this medium maintained that the heavy downpour and storm did not only destroy their household materials but also their roofs were blown off by the heavy storm thereby leaving them homeless. The victims added that they had to squat in public structures like Churches and mosques on the day of the incident.
Recipients of the donated items thanked their benefactors especially their Paramount Chief P.C. Aiah F. Bindi for spearheading the humanitarian crusade on their behalf and appealed for more help.
However, no human causality was reported.
