Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh recently visited the MV BGP Prospector 3D seismic vessel at Queen Elizabeth II Quay, commemorating the successful completion of a significant offshore 3D seismic survey. This achievement marks a pivotal step in Sierra Leone’s ongoing efforts to unlock its hydrocarbon potential.
The inspection signals an important milestone in the country’s oil and gas exploration efforts, underscoring the government’s strong commitment to advancing the energy sector. The MV BGP Prospector, which recently concluded an intensive offshore seismic campaign, provided crucial geological data that will inform future exploration and potential production activities.
Accompanying Dr. Jalloh during the visit was the Director-General of the Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA), who praised the collaborative efforts behind the project. He also highlighted the critical role of the Port in supporting operations that not only further Sierra Leone’s national energy objectives but also enhance the country’s position as a competitive player in the regional oil and gas industry.
Dr. Jalloh emphasized that the completion of the seismic survey serves as evidence of Sierra Leone’s growing appeal to international investors and reflects the government’s proactive approach in creating a favorable environment for resource development.
