Veteran Scrabbler Christian Asgill outshines Emmanuel King, Abdul Borbor Kamara- & Ishmael Sesay in NSASL qualifiers

Veteran Scrabbler Christian Asgill outshines Emmanuel King, Abdul Borbor Kamara and Ishmael Sesay excels in the 2021 National Scrabble Association of Sierra Leone (NSASL) qualifiers at the association`s complex at the Siaka Stevens stadium.

Christian Asgill won all twenty four games with a good spread of +783 to edged three of the top country`s scrabblers Ishmael Sesay, Emmanuel King and Abdul Borbor Kamara. Emmanuel King finished as runners up winning 19 games with a spread of +1414 while Abdul Kamara finished in third position winning 19 games with a spread of +1405.   

Christian Asgill told Exclusive Sports that beating the three top scrabblers is an inspiration o ahead of next month`s friendly in encounter in Monrovia. He said: “I believe with God on my side and the preparation I have put in, I`m optimistic of clinching the champions` trophy in Monrovia, Liberia” he said.

When asked whether he would continue his good form he replied: “Off course I will by the grace of God. To be at the top you have to be at your best and I am working very hard to give a good representation for my beloved country in next month`s friendly encounter.

He continued: “Due to complacency against our counterpart they humiliated us in front of own supporters, so we want to get revenge with a strong team to the needful. He however called on the National Sports Authority to support the association in making the trip a success.

Christian added: “The friendly is part of the grading system of World English-Language Scrabble Players Association (WESPA) and Pan- African Scrabble Association (PANASA) rankings.

According to Mohamed A. Kamara foreign base Scrabblers who is stay in England send a congratulating message to Christian Asgill for an outstanding performance in the local friendly, “I have no doubt him he is some one that is outstanding in terms Scrabble hope he continue with this good trend for the upcoming international friendly against Liberia next month.”

He ended up that in November this he will be preparing for the Malta Championship.
