Mohamed Kamara a commercial driver pleaded guilty in front of Magistrate Hadiru Daboh of Court No 3 Ross Road, Freetown, for stealing different items in a vehicle and on Wednesday 25th January 2023 sentenced to one year 6 months imprisonment.
The accused is charged on a count of larceny contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the charge sheet, the accused Mohamed Kamara on Sunday 4th December 2022, at Jui, Freetown, stole from Toyota Selina vehicle with registration number ALF 394 one 100 Amp vehicle battery, Samsung phone and other item amounting to two thousand seven hundred Leones property of Amna Sesay.

In another development, Ishmael Turay is charged with conspiracy contrary to law.
According to the charge sheet, the accused Ishmael Turay on Thursday 5 January 2023, at Bottom Mango Market Kissy Freetown, conspired together and with other person’s unknown to commit a felony to wit store breaking and larceny contrary to Section 26 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the charge sheet on count 2, the accused on the same date and place broke into the store of Amara Bangura and stole cartoons of chicken legs and wings valued eighty Leones.
The charge was read and explained to the accused person and he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor told the bench that his witness was absent and requested a short adjournment date.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Daboh refused bail and sent the accused person to the male correctional center in Freetown and matter was adjourned to the 31st January 2023 for further hearing.
