Mohamed Kamara, a 40-year-old driver, and Mohamed Conteh, a 28-year-old mechanic, made their first appearance before Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1 on September 23, 2025. The defendants are standing trial on two charges: conspiracy to commit a felony, contrary to law, and larceny by servant, contrary to Section 17 (1)(a) of the Larceny Act of 1916.

According to the particulars of the offence, on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the National Republic Health Agency Emergency Operation Center, Cockril, in the Western Area of Freetown, the defendants allegedly conspired with other unknown persons to commit larceny by servant.

Count two further states that, on the same date and at the same location, the defendants, being servants employed by the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, stole a Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle with registration number AXP 063. The vehicle, valued at forty thousand United States dollars (equivalent to 860,000 Leones), was the property of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation.

When the charges were read and explained to the defendants, no plea was entered.

The prosecutor, Assistant Superintendent of Police Ibrahim S. Mansaray, requested a short adjournment to present his case.

The defendants were represented by W.V. Gaber Esq., who renewed his previous application for bail on their behalf.

Magistrate Jah, however, refused bail based on the seriousness of the offence. The matter was adjourned to October 6, 2025.
