President Bio’s unwavering commitment to district development forms the bedrock of his symbiotic relationship with Pujehun. From the outset, he recognized the immense potential of the district and embarked on a comprehensive plan to uplift its communities and improve their quality of life.

Over the past fifteen years, Pujehun District has endured the darkness of inadequate electricity supply, a persistent challenge since its establishment. However, a new dawn has arrived for the district, courtesy of President Bio and the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP). Their dynamic leadership has ushered in a pragmatic approach to address this longstanding issue, liberating Pujehun from the shackles imposed by the previous All People’s Congress Party (APC) administration. The district is now poised to join the ranks of other District Headquarters Towns, such as Makeni, Kono, Bo, and Kenema, in enjoying uninterrupted electricity supply. This promising development is evidenced by the recent arrival of a state-of-the-art power plant generator, with significant progress already made towards providing electricity to the township of Pujehun.

The enticing factors that had exponentially and astronomically deepened the Wanjama love for President Bio and the SLPP include but not limited to, the massive development President Bio had taken to a district that was once shunned by the APC in terms of Development. The construction of the Banda Juma-Pujehun Road is also a historical accomplishment for the people of Pujehun District under the leadership of President Bio.

Without a shadow of a doubt, Pujehun District stands as a shining testament to the success of Sierra Leone’s Free Quality Education initiative. The district’s unwavering determination and the invaluable support from President Bio have resulted in a remarkable surge in academic achievements across the board. The story of 19-year-old Aminata Lithomboh, hailing from Massam Kpaka in Pujehun District, exemplifies both the transformative power of the Free Quality Education program and the district’s reservoir of knowledge. Despite facing early pregnancy and financial constraints that forced her to drop out of school, Aminata’s reintegration into the education system through the radical inclusion approach, championed by the remarkable Minister of Education, Dr. Moinina David Sengeh, a proud son of Pujehun District, proved instrumental. Her exceptional performance in the District’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) not only served as a testament to her resilience but also earned her the privilege of being part of President Bio’s delegation to the Transform Education Summit at the United Nations. Pujehun District’s commitment to education and the tangible results achieved through the Free Quality Education initiative demonstrate the district’s unwavering determination to empower its youth and secure a brighter future for generations to come.
