According to a close family friend and fellow student, Osman Kolleh Samura, commonly known as Mr. Big Man, the attackers targeted Kamara with the intention of robbery. Kamara sustained two stab wounds, one to his chest and another dangerously close to his neck, during the altercation. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Kamara succumbed to his injuries.
The assailants made off with Kamara’s possessions, including two android phones and a bag, leaving a community in shock and mourning. The incident has prompted swift action from the Sierra Leone Police Makeni division, who have launched a comprehensive investigation. Authorities urge anyone with pertinent information to come forward and assist in the pursuit of justice.
Meanwhile, the University of Makeni, along with the student union, has extended heartfelt condolences to Kamara’s family, describing him as a promising and bright student. The loss of Kamara has not only deeply affected his loved ones but also the wider academic community.
In a separate development, Ibrahim Kabba has been sentenced to twenty-six months’ imprisonment by the Sefadu Magistrate Court for larceny. Kabba, who pleaded guilty to the offense, committed the crime at Maraka compound in Koidu City.
