The U.S. Embassy in Sierra Leone has extended heartfelt congratulations to Abdul Rahman Bangura and Ganda Bassie on their selection for the prestigious 2025 Community Solutions Program (CSP) in the United States.

Bangura is the President of the Grass Field United Initiative for Development and Education, while Bassie serves as Founder and Director of the Child Welfare and Development Project (CWADeP).

The Community Solutions Program is an international exchange initiative that empowers emerging global leaders by connecting them with U.S.-based community organizations. The program fosters the exchange of ideas, skill development, and the creation of long-term partnerships aimed at addressing critical social issues.

This year, both Bangura and Bassie will work alongside American counterparts to gain insights and strategies that will strengthen their efforts in Sierra Leone. Their focus areas include expanding educational opportunities for youth and addressing the growing kush epidemic, which has become a significant concern among young people in the country.

Upon their return, the two leaders plan to apply the knowledge and experience gained from the program to implement impactful, community-driven initiatives. They also aim to build stronger ties between Sierra Leonean and U.S. institutions, promoting long-term collaboration and mutual development.

In a statement, the U.S. Embassy expressed confidence in their potential:  “We wish them every success on this exciting journey and look forward to seeing the impact of their work when they return.”

Their selection highlights not only their dedication to community development but also the increasing role of international collaboration in tackling local challenges.

As Sierra Leone continues to navigate complex social and economic issues, the participation of its leaders in global programs like CSP is a significant step toward building resilient communities and sustainable growth. The U.S. Embassy’s support underscores its ongoing commitment to empowering change-makers and strengthening bilateral partnerships.
