United States Ambassador Visits Central University to Promote Tech Innovation

United States Ambassador David Hunt visited Central University, engaging with students and faculty to support the integration of technology and innovation into education.

This visit highlights the U.S. commitment to developing a tech-savvy workforce in Sierra Leone, focusing on fostering economic growth through private sector development.

Ambassador Hunt met with Vice Chancellor Prof. Bob Conteh, a Humphrey Fellow and esteemed U.S. exchange alum, along with Director of Quality Assurance and International Affairs Gibril Sesay. The discussions emphasized the university’s initiatives to equip students with the skills needed for a rapidly changing job market.

“Technology and innovation are essential drivers of progress in Sierra Leone,” said Ambassador Hunt. “By investing in education and supporting institutions like Central University, we are paving the way for the youth to thrive in a competitive global economy.”
