United States Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Bryan David Hunt, made a significant return to Kenema on March 25, 2025, marking his second visit to the district.
Welcomed by Provincial Secretary Bai Turay and Paramount Chief Mohamed Kapuwa Matoe IV of Nongowa Chiefdom, the visit underscores the ongoing commitment to strengthening U.S.-Sierra Leone relations.
During his visit, Ambassador Hunt engaged in productive discussions aimed at enhancing collaboration between the United States and Sierra Leone. The meeting focused on key areas such as security, economic development, and mutual prosperity. “I am honoured to be back in Kenema and look forward to exploring ways we can work together for the benefit of both our countries,” Ambassador Hunt stated.
The visit comes at a crucial time as both nations seek to deepen their partnership amidst evolving regional challenges. By fostering dialogue and collaboration, the U.S. aims to support Sierra Leone in achieving its developmental goals while also addressing shared security concerns.
Paramount Chief Matoe IV expressed enthusiasm for the discussions, highlighting the importance of U.S. support in promoting local development initiatives. “Together, we can build a safer and more prosperous future for our people,” he remarked.
